IMPORTANT: Lead Testing in Drinking Water in Schools - October 15, 2019 deadline

Date: October 4, 2019

Dear School Official,

Please be informed that the results of all lead samples collected from your school(s) during the 2018 – 2019 school year must be reported to the State's lead tracking platform using the Electronic Data Deliverable (EDD) spreadsheet (see link below) by October 15, 2019, in order to be included in the 2019 report to the Governor.  The 2019 annual report to the Governor is due December 1, 2019, and will include lead samples collected between July 2, 2018, and July 1, 2019.

As required by the regulations (COMAR 26.16.07.11), the results of all lead samples collected from schools that receive drinking water from a public utility must be submitted to State and local agencies (MDE, MSDE, MDH, and the local Health Department) within 30 days of the samples being analyzed by the laboratory.  Submitting your results to the 120WaterAudit platform (see below) using the EDD will fulfill the requirement to report lead test results to all required State and local agencies.

The EDD, and all other required reporting forms, may be found on the Water Supply Program’s ‘Testing for Lead in Drinking Water in Schools’ web page under the ‘Important Forms’ section:

Please note the following:

If you have any questions, please contact Georgella Samu, Tim Rule, Sean Kenny, or Christina Ardito at 410-537-3729.  If you have technical questions about the EDD or the 120WaterAudit platform, please contact 120WaterAudit support at support@120wateraudit.com or call 800-674-7961.

We appreciate your efforts in implementing this new regulation.

Sincerely,

Christina Ardito
